Diging further with legends disappearence (it still happens sometimes) we have come to the clear rule:

If you copy chart to another page it goes well, but if you copy the legend linked to the chart, it appears in the editing mode but do not appear when you pupblish the sim.

In details, when editing you see both legends - in the original and "copied" page (in the tab page element), when published you see the legend only in the "copied" page.

As we understand, this could be caused by legend ID losing when cloning the element.
We need to clone about 250 charts and legends for multiuser sim and support of legend coping vs handy creating is very important.

If you see the problem, could you please include the patch for it in the upcoming realese?

Kind regards, Alex

?path=alexeyrs&height=32 Alex S 44 posts Another linked issue - when mapping legend to the chart I have to drag the legend element next to the chart, check the ID of the chart and then try to fing this ID in the trimmed list of other chart IDs which are NOT set in numeric order (IDs listed randomly in some groups).

All these point leads to the exessive time for legend creation.

Just as idea - if I could choose in the chart parameters "Create legend", and it was created already linked to this chart, it would be perfect. May be this option exists but I do not see it?

I am looking at this now, and I should have a solution for you by the end of the day PST time.  I will post back into this thread when I have the patch with a time for it to be released.

?path=billy&height=32 Billy Schoen... Administrator 255 posts Hey Alex,

Good news we were able to fix the bug with copying and pasting of charts and legends.  When you copy and paste a chart/legend combo it will now link the newly pasted legend to the newly created chart.

What was happening before was that it was doing a "pure" copy.  It was copying the old legend, and keeping it attached to the old chart that the original legend was linked to.  Then when you ran you sim, since the legend and the chart were not on the same page they had trouble finding each other, so rather then show "Set Chart DataProvider" it got set to invisible.

Now when you copy and paste a legend and a chart, the new legend will link to the new chart, and the old legend will stay linked with the old chart.

Also we have gone ahead and done as you suggested, adding a Create Legend button to every chart setting pane.  This will pop-out a new legend for each chart ensuring that they are linked together.

As for the "random" order of Chart IDs, they are actually ordered by page, but yes I agree that dropdown box is not really useful at all!

Thanks for you continuing patience.  This version of Simulate will be available on forio.com/simulate by 9pm PST, and I will post back here when that happens
