Using iPad

Hi Billy, I am back in Malaysia after the Korea SD Conference. Trying to do some work on my model using iPad. :) Having some problem with the Flash Player. |

Hi Nordin,
Unfortunately, Forio Simulate is not compatible with the iPad. This is because it requires the Flash Player, and Apple will not allow Flash to run on the iPhone or iPad. WILL |

Thanks Will, Yes I just got the iPad on the way back from meeting with Billy and Micheal; and found out about the Flash problem. Bummer! and I was considering and thinking about how cool it is if I can have my students playing using iPad. |

If your application doesn't have security concerns (ie: you don't mind if somebody could potentially see what your doing) - you might try "Cloud Browse". http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cloud-browse/id346618309?mt=8 ...there are other performance caveats (mostly dealing with resolution and the mouse) but might be just the solution for some people wanting to run Forio products (Flash) on Apple mobile devices.

Hi Will,
Any updates on this that might point to using Forio on the iPad? Bill |

Hi Bill,
Sims designed with the Forio UI designer produce Flash swf files as output, which remains incompatible with he iPad. As an alternative, for Forio Premium and above you can design your simulations using HTML and use the Forio web service APIs to send and retrieve simulation data. This is iPad compatible, though there are some usability-related design considerations specific to iPad. For an example, see Everest Leadership and Team Decision Making simulation, produced by Forio and Harvard Business School Publishing. forio.com/simulate/harvard/everest-demo WILL |
