How to clear your internet browser cache

Internet Explorer 11

1. Once your browser is open, click the gear at the top right to open the settings menu. Then, select Safety and Delete Browsing History... Or, optionally you may simply press Ctrl+Shift+Delete to open the Delete Browsing History window.

2. Select Temporary Internet Files. You will also need to uncheck all of the other boxes, especially Preserve Favorites website data. This option makes the window also delete objects from websites in your Favorites folder, which is necessary to completely clear your cache.

3. Click the Delete button near the bottom of the window to perform the operations (i.e. clear your cache by deleting temporary files).

4. Your computer will work for a moment, and then the process will be complete. You've successfully cleared Internet Explorer 11's Cache.

Microsoft Edge

1. Once your browser is open, click the Hub icon ( 3 horizontal dots ) at the top right to open the Hub. Or, optionally you may simply press Ctrl+Shift+Delete to open the Delete Browsing History window (and skip step 2)

2. Click on Settings

3. Scroll down to Clear browsing data and click Choose what to clear.

4. Select Cached data and files

5. Scroll down and click Clear.

6. Your computer will work for a moment, and then the process will be complete. You've successfully cleared Edge's Cache.

7. If you want the browser to automatically clear the cache whenever you close it, turn on the toggle labelled Always clear this when I close the browser, located below the Clear button.

Firefox 46.0 +

1. Click the Firefox menu in the top left corner and choose Preferences.

2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.

3. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

4. Close the page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved. You've successfully cleared Firefox's Cache.

Chrome v48 +

1. Click the Chrome menu in the top left corner and choose Settings.

2. At the bottom of the Settings page, click Show advanced settings.

3. Under Privacy and Security, select Clear browsing data.

4. Next to Time Range: select All time from the dropdown box.

5. Click CLEAR DATA. Your computer will work for a moment, and then the process will be complete. You've successfully cleared Chrome's Cache.

Safari for Mac OS X

1. Once your browser is open, click the Safari menu and select Preferences.

2. Select Privacy and then click Manage Website Data.

3. Click Remove All and then in the small popup, click Remove Now.

4. Your computer will work for a moment, and then the process will be complete. You've successfully cleared Safari's Cache.

iPhone

1. Click on Settings from the home page.

2. Scroll down until you see "Safari." Click on it to bring up the option page.

3. Click "Advanced" > "Website Data" > "Remove All Website Data". A popup box will appear. Click "Remove All" to confirm your choice.

4. Your phone will work for a moment, and then the process will be complete. You've successfully cleared your iPhone's Cache.
