Forio Broadcast Enterprise

Broadcast Enterprise is installed on your organization's own servers. Broadcast Enterprise can be integrated with your company's own IT infrastructure, including directory servers, databases and other web servers. Forio uses Broadcast Enterprise to host both Forio Broadcast Professional and Forio Broadcast Express. Thousands of simulations have been developed on a single instance of Forio Broadcast Enterprise that is used to host Broadcast Express.

Forio Broadcast Enterprise allows cross-platform and implementation flexibility. The production server may run either on a Windows, UNIX, or Linux computer, or may be integrated into a more sophisticated load-balanced server cluster.

Forio Broadcast Enterprise automatically handles the technical details (such as session management, decision processing, and the dynamic creation of pages). No programming is required to develop or distribute a simulation (although experienced developers can program additional modules to customize the operation of the software, if desired).

Broadcast Enterprise features:

• Installed on your own servers. You have complete control over the hardware and the network.

• Loads static model information (such as equations and formatting information) only once per application (not per user), resulting in robust, scalable simulation performance.
• Highly customizable and can be extended to offer advanced capabilities or be integrated with other packages.
• Builds on a cross-platform, scalable architecture composed of robust web-centric technologies such as Java, SQL, and XML.
• Uses a simple modeling language with a low learning curve for modelers familiar with Excel or major system dynamics software packages (e.g. STELLA, Powersim, Vensim, or iThink).

Forio Server has three primary strengths for simulation development:

1. Ease of online simulation development. The only skill sets required are HTML web design and business modeling. Interface design is done quickly using standard HTML design tools and a simple markup language. Similarly, the Forio modeling language is easy to learn and use. Business modelers with experience with other packages can import those models into Forio. Unlike many other business simulation products, no programming is required to create a web-based simulation.
   
   
2. Significantly lower cost to produce customized simulations. In particular, many other packages require sophisticated programming of dynamic user interfaces in Java, Flash, ASP, or JSP. As a contrast, interfaces developed for Forio Server are created with standard HTML or Flash and require no programming. Consequently the user interfaces can be developed an order of magnitude faster, yet are completely customized.
   
   
3. Technology is optimized for high-performance online simulation delivery.
• HTML based front end loads quickly on standard browsers.
• Java backend can operate on many platforms and in many configurations.
• Server Capabilities are designed from the ground up for servers. As a contrast, many other simulation platforms are general-purpose applications—hard to use and difficult to implement on web servers.
