Interface Builder issue starting up

I am trying to use the Interface Builder. I have created a project (two actually), importing my model from Forio Simulate. Once I have created the project, I can not do anything except create new pages. If I exit and try to go back in, my project seems to be unavailable for edit. In short, I am stuck and grateful for any guidance you can give. My ultimate aim is to rebuild the simulation I made in Simulate in Epicentre.

Hi Tim,

You must upload a model file that ends in “.vmf”, “stmx”, or “sip” to the model folder.

Right now, looking at your sims I see there are files with no extension. The interface builder is compatible with Vensim, STELLA, or Powersim only. (We are adding compatibility for SimLang, Python and R soon). Before opening the interface builder please upload a compatible model.

WILL

Thank you for your answer. I don’t think I am able to transform my Simlang model to one of the accepted model extensions you mention, so I will need to wait for Simlang compatibility.
Tim

Will, I wonder if there is any update on when I can use the Interface Builder with my model in Simlang (from Forio Simulate). I am keen to transfer my sim from Simulate to Epicentre since fewer and fewer of my students have easy access to Flash.
Thanks and regards

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the note. We will have this available in Q1, most likely in about a month.

WILL

Will, thanks for your reply. I conclude that it is better for me to wait until this is ready rather than start without the template tool in Epicentre. I will keep an eye out for any release notes or announcements on this. As I mentioned, for the moment I am stuck because I don’t want to continue to develop the sim in Forio Simulate as it requires Flash and I am not able to start developing it in Epicentre yet. In fact, my original model is built in Excel and is imported into Simulate, so if there is any way for me to use the Epicentre template tool on the basis of the Excel model then that would work too.

Hi Tim,

We do not yet have Excel capability in Epicenter. We are porting our Excel to SimLang translator from Simulate, which will let you use Excel models with the Epicenter interface builder.

Hi Will, I wonder if you have an update on the expected date of availability of the functionality to import Simang models into Epicentre?
Best regards

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the note. We are expecting this near the end of the month. I’ll be sure to send a note / update this post when it is released.

Hi Wil,
I wonder if you can let me know the release date for the Simlang functionality in Epicenter? This would help me in planning my work.
Best regards

Hi Tim,

We’ll have this feature on our web site early next week.

WILL

Hi Tim,

Just a brief update-- our release was delayed by a week-- I’ll update this ticket when the SimLang feature is installed.
