RUN SELECTOR No Configurable Properties

Dear Support Staff,

I’m putting together an Epicenter interface for a Vensim model I prepared. It is a model for analysis of economic impacts of policies for sustainability of fisheries in a given country (I had posted a couple of weeks ago regarding a problem uploading the file in Forio, which you kindly helped to overcome). I had successfully build few pages, including one multi-run and three single runs. It took quite a long time to bring each variable into the graphs (about 5 minutes each… another problem with the interface) but at least I was moving forward. I saved what I had and stopped working on the project for about 10 minutes When I returned I noted to message above (“RUN SELECTOR No Configurable Properties”) and also noted that the content of some pages had changed. The introduction page had graph, and another page where I had a single run for a variable now had replicated the content of another page… this baffles me because, as I explained, I had just saved and was satisfied with what I had so far (other than the slow upload of variables in drop down menus) and then found all this upon re-taking the work.

Any idea why this may be happening?

Best regards, and thanks in advance

Leonardo

Hi Leonardo,

Thanks for the note. Our developers are taking a look at this and will send you some feedback later today.

WILL

Hi Leonardo,

First – we have identified a problem with the variable list in your simulation. Your model has approximately 95,000 variables, including arrays subscripts. The drop down list wasn’t handling this long list effectively. We’re doing an update by the end of this week that will allow the drop-down list to work with heavily subscripted models such as yours.

Regarding the page content changing, we are still looking into this. We’ve had a couple of reports of graphs or other content being saved on the wrong page. We suspect it has to do with saving while switching pages but we are still working to identify the specific problem and issue a fix.

WILL

Many thanks!

If I may, I would suggest Forio, if possible, enabling the option of bringing all variables with same name and different subscript (say, gender[male] , gender[female]) into a graph by just selecting one of them or the name of the variable alone (“gender”), so the graph has both variables depicted. This would be useful, for instance, for pie charts where there are several subscripts to a variable, and one may also wish to look at the dynamic evolution of such variable by subscript.

Thanks again.

Leonardo

Hi – Good idea. I’ve passed this feedback to our development team. --> WILL

Dear Will / Forio Support team

Just wondering if you have had the chance to look at the issues above?

Many thanks

Best regards

Leonardo

Hi Leonardo,

Good news! Yesterday we updated the interface builder with a fix for two issues. (1) You can now work with longer lists of variables (we tested with your model) and (2) Intermittent problems with saving pages, where the content for one page could be saved on another page.

Let us know if this helps.

Many thanks, Naren. It certainly uploads much faster the variables in the drop-down menu. Many, many thanks

Leonardo

Dear support staff,
I’m experiencing the same problem als Leonardo. New runs aren’t shown in the graphs. In the RUN SELECTOR I get the message no configurable properties.
I’ve got only a small model on the refugee crisis, I don’t think to many variable are a problem.

I hope you can help,
Mieke

I think I may have found some of the solution:
The reporting variables were deleted from the model settings.
Still, the baseline variable seem to shift from the standard values.

greetings, Mieke

Hi Mieke,

We’ll be glad to take a look - can you let us know the url of your simulation?
