v1.52 Release Notes

Release Date: 12/24/2017

(includes notes on interim updates 1/2/2018, 1/4/2018, 2/3/2018)

Improvements

  • When adding a user to a group, the user is limited by the expiration date and run limit entered in the group. Specifically, new runs will not be able to be created if the user is expired or has reached the limits. Before this release, this information was ignored. For compatibility with older groups, all existing expiration dates have been cleared.

  • Spaces are stripped out of the start/end of passwords when a user logs in. This will improve usability if a user copies and pastes account information from an email or spreadsheet and accidentally includes extra spaces.

  • End users can be disabled in the "End User" page. Team members can now temporarily disable users from logging in instead of permanently deleting unwanted users.

Improvements - Interface Builder

  • The Interface Builder contains Data Tables (time over rows) and Scatter Charts.

  • There is additional flexibility for the decision page. Specifically there are new kinds of buttons (links, dropdowns, standard) and authors may add buttons anywhere they can add an input.

  • New chart options have been added. These include min/max for X ad Y axis, text labels for X-axis in line charts, and line chart markers that can be toggled. In additional all min/max values for charts now accept formatted numbers as inputs (e.g. 1,000K).

  • The video component supports Vimeo in addition to YouTube.

  • The Interface Builder is now longer marked as "beta". This capability is now considered a full fledged feature of Forio Epicenter.

Improvements - Experimental

This release includes a few experimental features, not yet documented. Contact Forio for more information.

  • Support for Excel models with sheets and named ranges.

  • Support for Twine model format for use in the development of branching simulations.

  • XY pair format for Vensim (helpful with variables that have partial time series or time steps different than rest of model).

  • A new "consensus" API which allows multiple users in multiplayer simulations to coordinate operations, executing them when all members of a world request the operation.

Bug Fixes

  • Data API was not correctly using paging headers.

  • Runs were not being returned if associated user was removed or invalid.

  • Impersonation was failing for Team Members with customer support role.

  • Other updates for performance and stability, particularly with regard to the File APIs, run APIs, and interface builder.
