Crafting Your Life Simulation

Exploring Purpose and Priorities

Simulation Overview

This simulation provides learners with the opportunity to make a series of life decisions, allowing them to assess where these choices lead them and to reflect on the values that guided them. The experience aims to help learners gain clarity on their values and life priorities, how challenging it is to make choices aligned with those priorities, how they navigate difficult decisions and trade-offs, and how they may want to act going forward to live more intentionally. The core learning objectives focus on life priorities, choices, the decision-making process under pressure, and capacity building for future decision-making.

Life unfolds as a series of choices. In this simulation, learners fast-forward fifteen years and navigate forty decisions—some major, others small—testing how they balance career, relationships, self-care, and social impact. Unexpected events and social comparisons heighten the pressure, demanding quick prioritization and trade-offs under time constraints. Learners confront the patterns behind their choices and what those reveal about how they live.

Learning Objectives

To help learners determine what a "life well-lived" means to them, clarify their priorities, and understand what their choices reveal about their underlying values.
To help learners assess what they tend to choose when faced with trade-offs and whether their big and small decisions are aligned with what matters most to them.
To prompt reflection on the experience of making difficult choices, what impacted those decisions (e.g., time pressure, social pressure, life events), and how they felt throughout the simulation.
To equip learners with a strategy for making future choices aligned with their priorities, by identifying the conditions that make it easier or more challenging to do so.
