Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship Simulation

Simulation Overview

The Design Thinking Exercise: Food Truck Challenge places learners in the role of an entrepreneur navigating a fast-changing market. They must decide how to test products, choose locations, and balance research with action to maximize results. Built around design thinking principles, the simulation emphasizes learning by doing, prototyping, and iterative decision-making—illustrating how experimentation outperforms static planning in uncertain environments.

Grounded in the lean startup and design thinking frameworks, the simulation helps learners develop agility, creativity, and analytical rigor. Participants experience first-hand how entrepreneurs gather feedback, adapt their approach, and refine ideas to discover what truly meets customer needs

It is ideal for discussions of innovation, product development, design thinking, lean start-up, entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, and organizational learning.
