Group Communication and Decision Making Simulation

During this webinar, we’ll teach you how to facilitate workshops and classes using the Group Communication and Decision-Making Simulation. This new, team-based simulation requires players to balance their interests, the interests of their constituents, and their team members to create a wildfire mitigation plan. The multiplayer synchronous simulation takes place over five rounds, which corresponds to five months in the scenario. Each round includes an in-class meeting where participants meet face-to-face for ~30 minutes, resulting in specific decisions about the relevant regions on the wildfire mitigation map. Simulations are highly effective teaching tools, particularly for training on leadership, communication, management, and other topics with multiple paths to success. The ability to practice what you’re learning — and to describe, share, and analyze those results with other learners — is crucial to evaluating the pros and cons of different approaches.
