Simulation Overview

In this leadership and communication simulation, learners will act as the senior leadership team of a meal kit company called Easy Meals. Learners respond to crises occurring in each round by making decisions both individually and as a team. While they are facing different challenges throughout the simulation, learners will practice effective and consistent communication with different stakeholders, evaluate trade-offs, and seek consensus with teammates about decisions. This is a multiplayer simulation with teams of 5 or 6.

Time Requirement

  • Introduction - 30 minutes
  • Game Play - 60 to 90 minutes
  • Debrief - 60 minutes
  • Total: 3 hours

The Story

Learners play one of six C-suite executives at a company. At the beginning of the simulation, the company is getting ready for the IPO and each role in the team has unique stock options. Each player has their own discretionary budget based on their role and begins the simulation by submitting their budget independently. As various crises unfold in the subsequent rounds, players will be presented with different information from various staff and consultants based on their role. They analyze information available, make some of the decisions together as a team, and communicate their decisions to the public, the investors and the employees consistently. They will also be re-evaluating the company plans for the IPO during gameplay as well as trying to maximize their stock options.
