IT Management Simulation

Cyber Attack!

$165 / seat

Simulation Overview

In the simulation, learners explore the struggles as the CTO of a publicly traded company during a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. In their role, they will be contacted by a variety of staff members both above and below them hierarchically, and make decisions along the way about how to handle the crisis. Ultimately, they need to gather as much pertinent information as possible so that they may prepare a public statement for a group of analysts. The participants will then evaluate each other’s statements and discuss how well they each handled the crisis. This is a multiplayer synchronous game that requires a minimum of 3 players to play through the simulation.

Learning Focus

  • Gain familiarity with the basic mechanism of common cybersecurity attacks (DoS, DDoS, intrusions) and understand the differences between external attacks and intrusions.
  • Learn the repercussions of these attacks on management, and how different responses may be appropriate.
  • Understand communicative complexities, both internal and external, and become better prepared to manage a cyber event before, during, and after it happens.

Topics Covered

  • Cybersecurity
  • Communication
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Risk Analysis
